The successful candidate would be working as part of a team responsible for providing breakfast and lunch service to approximately 300 employees each day, ensuring internal customer needs are always met while ensuring full compliance with Food Safety and Hygiene standards.

Based in: ABP Yetminster

Hours: 40 hours per week, Monday - Friday 6.00am to 3.00pm including breaks

Responsible for: 2 X Canteen Assistants

The role involves:

  • Overseeing food preparation and presentation of breakfast and lunch service to ensure quality and consistency is provided in a timely manner
  • Supervising and managing the canteen staff to ensure efficient operation
  • Ensuring portion control and pricing of items is correct
  • Ensuring all canteen employees attend food allergy training
  • Ensuring food safety compliance and all canteen employees receive up to date Food Safety Training
  • Carrying out and documenting a weekly stock take
  • Coordinating with suppliers
  • Maintaining inventory and stock ordering to prevent shortages and excesses
  • Managing budget effectively and reducing food wastage
  • Menu design including themed days and national dishes
  • Taking responsibility for two canteen assistants full time ensuring there is adequate staff manning
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and hygiene in the canteen
  • Ensuring vending machines are stocked correctly at all times, pricing is correct and reporting breakdowns or issues
  • Complying with company policy and procedure on safe food handling and hygiene at all times
  • Completing and documenting all Food Safety documentation correctly and in a timely manner

  • Knowledge of health and safety regulations relating to food service, desirable qualified to a minimum of Level 4 Food Safety
  • Good IT skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to motivate and manage a team effectively
  • Evidence of budget management

The candidate must be able to follow instructions including those relating to personal health and safety and the wearing of PPE.
