We have an opportunity for a Maintenance Operative with our Cambridge Maintenance team. As a Maintenance Operative you should be a general all‑rounder with excellent attention to detail, a positive can‑do attitude who enjoys working in a client‑facing role and can offer a great customer experience. You will form part of the Regional maintenance team who support the homes throughout the Cambridge region.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure premises and grounds are maintained to a high standard.
- Maintain all records in accordance with company policies, procedures and guidelines.
- Carry out routine checks and inspections and report on findings.
- Adhere to company policies, especially health and safety and fire policies.
- Ensure work complies with legislation regarding property and facilities.
- Support induction of new team members.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times.
- Order and check stock when delivered.
- Collaborate with the Home Manager, teams and residents.
- Carry out any additional duties as requested.
- Support the homes on an on‑call rota for emergencies during evenings and weekends (paid).
- Participate in additional training and development.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Previous experience in a handy‑person, maintenance, painting and decorating or gardening role.
- Own basic tools; all materials will be provided.
- A full driving licence and own vehicle for travel to other homes in the region. Mileage will be paid via expenses.
- Background in electrical work is an advantage.
- Basic computer knowledge.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Completion of an enhanced DBS (Criminal Records Check).
Working Hours
45 hours per week – 8am – 5pm, Monday to Friday.
