THE OPPORTUNITY
Raise the Bar is a growing global speaker bureau.
We partner with ambitious organisations to deliver exceptional speaker experiences, from the initial brief through to the day itself, backed by a brilliant team of event coordinators.
Our clients come back to us year after year and our repeat business rates reflect that.
We are looking for someone hungry to build something, not just manage what already exists.
This is a new business and outbound role.
You generate your own pipeline through proactive prospecting, calls, Linked In and targeted campaigns, converting opportunities into long-term client relationships.
Account management matters too, but the engine of this role is outbound activity and the hunger to do it consistently.
You will be properly set up from day one.
Hub Spot, mass outreach campaigns, research tools, a regular webinar programme and access to premium data mean you spend your time on the right conversations, not manual admin.
We are also testing new approaches with AI and moving with the new sales world.
And the roster you get to work with is genuinely exceptional.
World-class speakers across leadership, AI, high performance, mental health, sustainability and more.
No two briefs are the same.
Matching the right speaker to the right moment for a client is one of the best parts of the job.
- WHY RAISE THE BAR
- A sales role where your effort genuinely determines what you earn. No artificial ceiling, no politics. Just results.
- Uncapped commission. The more you invoice the more you earn. There is genuinely no ceiling.
- Your effort determines your earnings. No waiting around for inbound leads that may or may not arrive.
- Remote-first with real flexibility. You run your own diary, pipeline and accounts.
- A small, driven team where your results are seen and rewarded quickly.
- Variety that keeps it interesting. A speaker roster spanning leadership, AI, high performance, mental health, sustainability and more.
- WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING
New Business. This is the priority.
- Proactive outbound prospecting every day. Calls, Linked In, targeted email campaigns. Engaging L&D managers, HR directors and event organisers who need a speaker.
- Generating client meetings and getting in front of the right people to build relationships that become long-term partnerships.
- Building and converting your own pipeline through consultative, relationship-led sales conversations.
- Using Hub Spot, outreach campaigns and our webinar programme to reach the right buyers at the right time, at scale without losing the personal touch.
- Attending industry events and networking opportunities to grow your profile and your pipeline.
Account Management. Keeping clients coming back.
- Managing and growing an existing portfolio of accounts, understanding their event calendars and speaker needs well in advance.
- Building the kind of relationships where Raise the Bar is the first call a client makes when they need a speaker.
- Cross-selling into our wider portfolio including Commercial Learning and Apprenticeships where relevant.
Day to Day.
- Preparing compelling proposals and contracts that meet client budgets and expectations.
- Keeping Hub Spot sharp and current. Every conversation, every piece of pipeline, every activity logged.
- Building strong working relationships with speakers on our roster.
- Working closely with our coordinators, marketing and finance teams to make sure every event lands brilliantly.
- WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Proven B2B sales experience. A real track record of generating your own pipeline, not just working inbound.
- Comfortable with high-volume outbound. You pick up the phone. You work Linked In hard. You run campaigns. You do not wait for leads.
- 2+ years in a client-facing sales or account management role.
- CRM proficiency. Hub Spot experience is a strong advantage.
- Excellent communication skills. Confident on the phone, sharp in writing, personable face to face.
- Resilient, self-motivated and commercially sharp. You know your numbers and you hold yourself to them.
- Experience in the speaker bureau, events, L&D or professional services world.
- An existing network of L&D, HR or event management contacts.
- Experience with outreach platforms, sequencing tools or sales automation.
- Familiarity with the corporate events buying cycle.
- Equality & Diversity
