The role in brief: We’re looking for a proactive, detail-driven individual to join our Financial Planning team in Blackburn. Whether you’re early in your paraplanning journey or bring years of experience, this is your chance to make a real impact—supporting advisers and clients.
Who we are looking for: As a Paraplanner at PM+M, you’ll be at the heart of our client service delivery. You’ll work closely with our advisers to help business owners, professionals, and retirees navigate their financial futures.
What the role involves:
- Researching products, funds, and financial solutions to support tailored advice.
- Preparing suitability reports and documentation for client meetings.
- Highlighting opportunities and areas for improvement in client portfolios.
- Supporting compliance through pre-sale checks and project work.
- Driving innovation by contributing to improve team efficiency.
- Working with AI software to prepare research and advice.
We provide a complementary range of learning opportunities to ensure that you maximise your potential in areas such as becoming a trusted adviser, how to network, presentation skills etc with opportunities for progression around the firm. These will comprise personal effectiveness as well as your technical skills.
We have 6 monthly performance review conversations to ensure your development is on track, as well as optional monthly 1-2-1s. You will also have the opportunity to work with a mentor.

Our ideal candidate will:
- Have 2+ years’ experience in paraplanning.
- Have attained, or be close to attaining Level 4 Diploma in Regulated Financial Planning.
- Have experience in pension switches, group pensions, cashflow modelling, investment advice, protection advice, inheritance tax planning and more.
- Be open to using AI tools to enhance productivity.
- Be eager to develop themselves long term, both personally and professionally.
- Be proficient in Word, Excel, Outlook, and ideally financial planning tools and systems.
- Have minimum GCSE passes at both Maths and English.
- Be consistently productive in terms of report numbers.
- Have experience managing a busy and changing workload, working as part of a team.
