Key Responsibilities
- Operate crawler cranes to lift, move, and position heavy loads safely and accurately.
- Conduct pre-start checks and daily inspections of the crane to ensure safe working condition.
- Work closely with the lifting team (slingers, signallers) to execute lifting plans.
- Follow method statements and risk assessments for all crane operations.
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations, industry standards, and company policies at all times.
- Report defects, malfunctions, or safety concerns immediately to the Site/Plant Manager.
- Carry out minor adjustments and routine maintenance as required.
- Support general site operations during non-crane activities.
Skills and Qualifications
- Minimum 5 years’ experience operating crawler cranes.
- Valid CPCS, NPORS or equivalent Crawler Crane Operator certification.
- Knowledge of lifting operations, load charts, and safe working load limits.
- Strong understanding of health and safety regulations, lifting plans, and method statements.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to follow instructions and work under pressure in a busy construction environment.
