About the role
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our engineering team. This role is ideal for an engineer who enjoys hands‑on design work, technical problem‑solving, and collaborating closely with manufacturing, service, suppliers, and customers. You will be responsible for producing high-quality mechanical designs and technical documentation that support manufacturing, assembly, and service activities, while also playing a key role in improving existing products and processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce accurate part and assembly drawings to support manufacturing
- Provide technical support to production staff, service teams, subcontractors, and customers
- Respond to service-related technical queries and contribute to root cause analysis
- Lead or contribute to joint engineering projects, offering technical guidance to team members and other departments
- Proactively review existing products, identify improvement opportunities, and take the lead on implementing design enhancements
- Liaise with suppliers and, where required, visit customer and supplier sites to support projects and technical investigations
Skills & Experience
- Degree or equivalent qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related discipline
- Proven experience in mechanical design within a manufacturing or engineering environment
- Strong CAD skills with experience producing detailed engineering drawings
