About Us
Big decisions deserve clear thinking. At Sopher + Co, we've spent more than 50 years helping entrepreneurs and high-net-worth individuals navigate complex financial and commercial challenges. From tax planning and private office services to business advisory and technology, we bring everything together to make life simpler and help our clients focus on what matters most. We don't just solve problems. We build relationships, offer clarity, and give our clients the confidence to move forward. And it's our people who make that possible.
The role
We're looking for a Marketing & Business Development Manager to join our team in Borehamwood and with frequent travel to our Mayfair, London office. As this is a pivotal position within the firm we are flexible on securing the right candidate up to a Director level. This is a hands‑on, commercially minded role where you will take ownership of marketing, communications, digital content, events and business development support, using modern digital tools and AI to improve quality, consistency and efficiency. This role will define and build the firm's marketing function, creating structure, processes and content foundations for the future.
Key responsibilities
- Own and deliver the firm's annual marketing and business development plan aligned to strategy and priority sectors.
- Support partners with pitches, proposals, credentials and client development activity.
- Manage the firm's website, LinkedIn presence and external communications.
- Deliver campaigns, newsletters, thought leadership and event communications.
- Build and maintain AI-enabled workflows, templates and content libraries.
- Improve and automate marketing processes including reporting, content scheduling and event follow‑up.
- Work with IT and operations to enhance systems, CRM usage, data quality and marketing infrastructure.
- Coordinate internal communications and selected firm events.
- Track and report on marketing activity, spend and outcomes.
What you'll bring
You are a commercially minded marketing professional who can operate independently, work with senior stakeholders and turn technical input into clear, client‑ready messaging. You combine strong communication skills with practical digital capability and a modern approach to marketing, including confident use of AI tools to improve output and efficiency. You are comfortable building structure from scratch and improving how marketing is done, not just delivering tasks. You'll also bring:
- 5+ years' experience in marketing, communications, business development or a client‑facing professional services role.
- Strong digital marketing experience (website content, LinkedIn, email marketing, CRM and campaigns).
- Confident use of AI tools and modern platforms (Microsoft 365, Teams, SharePoint; CRM systems; Canva or Adobe advantageous).
- Strong written English, high attention to detail and ability to maintain brand consistency.
- Experience building templates, workflows or scalable marketing systems.
- Strong organisational and project management skills.
- Experience working with senior stakeholders or partners.
- Degree‑level education or equivalent experience in marketing, communications, business or media.
What you'll get in return
We offer a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package, designed to support your health, wellbeing, financial security and career development. Our benefits include:
- Private Medical Insurance
- Life assurance (Death in Service)
- Employee Assistance Programme and 24/7 Digital GP access
- Reward Gateway (employee discounts and cashback)
- Generous holiday entitlement, with the option to buy and sell leave
- Enhanced family‑friendly policies
- Ongoing training and development opportunities
- Fully funded training packages with a generous exam reward structure
- Recognition and long‑service milestones
- Cycle to Work scheme
- Discounted wills and LPAs
