That means using your technical expertise in PCB manufacturing, optimizing flux ratios, solder profiles, and fine-tuning assembly processes to improve yield and efficiency. You’ll be trusted to inspect boards for defects and ensure compliance with industry standards like IPC-A-610, building your quality assurance knowledge. And with routine maintenance tasks like dross removal and filter cleaning, you’ll deepen your understanding of how to keep automated systems running smoothly. What you’ll do:
- Operate and programme wave soldering equipment, ensuring precise and accurate PCB assembly.
- Inspect boards for defects and perform rework, developing your quality assurance expertise.
- Maintain machines regularly, including dross removal and filter cleaning, to ensure consistent performance.
- Optimise solder profiles and flux ratios, improving efficiency and yield in the manufacturing process.
- Handle post-wave processing tasks like board cleaning, lead cropping, and depaneling.
- Follow health & safety policies, work instructions, 5S practices, and ESD procedures.
What you'll need:
- At least 3 years of experience in wave soldering, PCB assembly, or machine operation in an electronics manufacturing setting.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and Bills of Materials (BOMs).
- Familiarity with IPC Class 2 or Class 3 standards is highly desirable.
- Strong manual dexterity and excellent visual inspection skills for identifying defects and performing rework.
