We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Housekeeper to join our team at Nazareth House Care Village in Belfast. This is a bank/zero-hours position, offering flexibility and the opportunity to work as needed. You will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. In addition to general housekeeping tasks, the successful candidate will assist residents with breakfast and undertake laundry duties to support daily care operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Carry out daily housekeeping duties, including cleaning residents' rooms, communal areas, bathrooms, and staff facilities.
  • Assist residents with breakfast preparation and serving, ensuring individual dietary needs are met.
  • Manage laundry tasks including washing, drying, folding, and distributing both linens and personal clothing.
  • Ensure cleaning supplies are restocked and equipment is maintained in good working order.
  • Adhere strictly to infection control, health and safety regulations, and internal policies.
  • Report any maintenance issues or safety concerns to the manager promptly.
  • Engage respectfully and warmly with residents, fostering a positive and supportive environment.
  • Work collaboratively with the wider care team to provide a high standard of living for residents.
  • Perform additional duties as required by the management team.

Requirements

  • Experience: No experience necessary, training will be provided along with online training.
  • Skills: Ability to work independently and manage time effectively. High attention to detail and cleanliness standards. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Compassionate, respectful, and reliable.
  • Other: Flexibility to work a variety of shifts including weekdays and weekends. Basic understanding of health and safety and infection control procedures. Must have the right to work in the UK. Must be able to reliably commute or plan to relocate to Belfast.
