We currently have an opportunity for a dedicated and enthusiastic Cook to join our team at our residential Bridgemead care home in Bath.
We provide a loving and caring environment for our residents, whilst maintaining the Christian ethos that is so important to them.

This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a busy kitchen environment, takes pride in preparing home-cooked meals, and understands the importance of providing nutritious, balanced food that contributes to the wellbeing and happiness of our residents.
Responsibilities
- Prepare, cook and serve nutritious, balanced and attractive meals, taking into account individual preferences and special dietary requirements.
- Ensure all food hygiene and food safety standards are maintained in line with current regulations.
- Observe minimum temperature requirements during cooking, reheating, hot holding and serving of food.
- Maintain accurate kitchen records and documentation as required.
- Store food correctly and manage stock rotation to minimise waste and control costs.
- Maintain the kitchen, food storage areas, equipment, crockery, cutlery and utensils in a high standard of cleanliness.
- Use kitchen equipment safely and in accordance with manufacturer guidelines and health and safety requirements.
- Attend training sessions and meetings as required.
- Support a positive and engaging home environment and contribute to activities that enhance residents' quality of life.
- Work as part of a team and undertake other reasonable duties within your capabilities.

About You
- You enjoy working with older people and have a caring and compassionate approach.
- You have experience preparing and cooking meals in a professional kitchen environment.
- You understand the importance of food hygiene, food safety and maintaining high standards.
- You are organised, reliable and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
- A Food Hygiene Certificate would be advantageous, although training can be provided.
- Experience within a care home, healthcare or similar environment would be beneficial but is not essential.
- You are willing to support and uphold the Christian ethos of the organisation.
