WH Scott Group is looking to hire an Engineering Maintenance Technician Apprentice to join our Bristol branch.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about engineering and wants to build a long-term career while gaining valuable hands‑on experience in a professional working environment.

Engineering Maintenance Technician (EMT) – Dual Discipline Level 3

Engineering Maintenance Technicians work across a wide range of industries that use plant, machinery, equipment, systems and fixtures, including energy, manufacturing, processing and utilities. Working environments can vary significantly, providing apprentices with the opportunity to develop a broad range of practical engineering skills.

The Level 3 Engineering Maintenance Technician (EMT) Dual Discipline Apprenticeship offers a choice of:

  • Electrical, Control and Instrumentation Technician
  • Electrical and Mechanical Maintenance Technician

Engineering Maintenance Technicians are responsible for maintaining plant and equipment to optimise safe and efficient operation. This includes carrying out planned and preventative maintenance to minimise the risk of equipment failure, as well as reactive maintenance when breakdowns or other issues occur.

The role will involve preparing for and accepting maintenance jobs, carrying out work safely and to the required standards, completing jobs and maintaining accurate records. The apprentice will also have the opportunity to contribute to continuous improvement activities and develop the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.

Training and Development

As part of the apprenticeship, full training and support will be provided, including formal technical training delivered through Bristol City University alongside practical, hands‑on experience with WH Scott Group.

This is a fantastic opportunity to earn while you learn, gain a recognised Level 3 engineering qualification and develop the technical and practical skills needed for a successful career in engineering maintenance.

We are looking for someone who is motivated, reliable, curious and keen to learn, with a genuine interest in engineering and a commitment to developing their skills.
