Conkers is a lively and welcoming 7 bed residential home for Young Adults who have Profound and Multiple Learning Disabilities. We are looking for some amazing new people to join our team. Our goal is to ensure the people we support live as independently as possible and have access to community activities. As a staff team we often say "today has to be the best day of their lives!". We have a committed and passionate workforce and are looking for likeminded people. All training and support is provided as well as a learning packed induction period. To meet the needs of our adults, our Support Worker teams work a variety of shift patterns and hours, however we do ask that you are able to work from 7am or until 9:30pm at night depending on your weekly rota. Rotas are issued in advance, and your 4-week rota will follow a pattern, so you can always plan ahead for your days off. Shifts are typically 7.5hrs to 12.5hrs in length, including weekends.
Day to day role of a Support Worker:
- Supporting with meals and drinks, and to help them to get excited about being involved in cooking and baking!
- Helping with their personal care, including bathing and showering, so they look and feel great.
- Engaging in meaningful activities both at home and out in the community - whether that’s the cinema, bowling, or abseiling.
- Building a relationship with the adults and their families, so that you can provide truly person-centred, individualised care.
- Supporting adults to access our on-site Hydrotherapy pool and Rebound trampoline - guided by qualified Physiotherapists and Lifeguard trained staff.
Experience is welcome, but not essential, as all training will be given. You do not need to be a driver to apply for this role.
