Are you an experienced Support Worker ready to take the next step in your career? Do you believe that great support starts with kindness, teamwork and a sense of fun?
At Poplars, we're looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Part Time Senior Support Worker to join our fantastic team. If you're passionate about helping people live fulfilling lives, enjoy leading by example, and love being part of a positive, caring community, we'd love to hear from you.
Welcome to Poplars
Poplars is a vibrant 12-bed residential home supporting adults with learning disabilities, physical disabilities and complex needs. As part of the Meadows development, Poplars offers a warm, welcoming environment where every individual is encouraged to live life to the fullest. Residents enjoy spacious communal areas, a music room featuring innovative iMuse technology, and access to a beautiful oriental garden complete with a Japanese pagoda.
The Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you'll be a key part of the leadership team, supporting adults with complex needs while helping to guide and develop a team of Support Workers. You'll be hands-on in delivering outstanding care, promoting independence, ensuring high standards, and creating meaningful opportunities for the people we support every day.
No two days are the same. One day you may be coaching colleagues, reviewing care plans and leading shift handovers. The next you could be supporting someone to access their favourite activity, helping them develop new skills, or celebrating an important achievement.
What You'll Be Doing
- Leading shifts and supporting the day-to-day running of the service.
- Mentoring, coaching and supervising Support Workers.
- Supporting adults with personal care, health needs and daily living activities.
- Promoting choice, independence and person-centred support.
- Maintaining and reviewing care plans and records.
- Administering medication and ensuring best practice is followed.
- Encouraging participation in social, leisure and community activities.
- Working closely with families, colleagues and multidisciplinary teams to achieve the best outcomes.
What We're Looking For
You’ll be someone who:
- Has experience working in adult social care.
- Has experience supporting people with complex disabilities and support needs.
- Can confidently lead by example and support the development of others.
- Values dignity, respect, choice and independence.
- Is organised, reliable and compassionate.
- Brings positivity, energy and a can-do attitude to work every day.
A Level 3 qualification in Care (or willingness to work towards it) is essential.
