About The Role
As Senior School Nurse, you will:
- Lead the assessment, planning, implementation and review of individual healthcare plans.
- Deliver specialist nursing care for children and young people with complex health needs.
- Act as a key clinical resource for colleagues, families and external professionals.
- Supervise, mentor and support nurses, Education Health Care Assistants and support staff.
- Promote best practice, clinical excellence and person-centred care.
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to achieve the best outcomes for pupils.
- Ensure staff medical training remains current and appropriate to the needs of the school.
- Support service development, quality improvement initiatives and clinical governance.

What do you need?
Essential
- Registered Children’s Nurse (RNC/RN8) or an RNLD with a current NMC PIN
- Experience leading, managing or coordinating nursing teams
- Experience developing and evaluating healthcare programmes and care plans
- Strong medication management experience
- Experience working within multidisciplinary teams
- Experience supporting children and young people with complex physical, medical and learning needs
- Excellent communication, organisational and leadership skills
- Committed to delivering compassionate, person-centred care
Desirable
- Experience managing tracheostomies and long-term ventilation
- Experience in deep suction techniques
- Experience supporting children and young people with epilepsy
- Experience working within specialist education or disability services
