We are looking for a reliable, proactive and flexible Driver / Caretaker to join our team. This varied role combines transport duties with general maintenance and caretaking responsibilities, supporting the smooth day‑to‑day running of our service.
Hours: Full‑time
Location: Holmfirth (HD9 3TQ)
Salary: £12.74/hr
Key Responsibilities:
- Safely transport service users, staff and visitors as required.
- Plan and execute journeys efficiently and on time.
- Carry out daily vehicle checks, ensuring vehicles are clean, roadworthy and well maintained.
- Report any vehicle defects or incidents promptly.
- Assist passengers with boarding, seating and exiting vehicles safely.
- Adhere to all road safety regulations and organisational policies.
- Perform basic maintenance tasks (minor repairs, decorating, furniture assembly).
- Maintain building, grounds and facilities clean, safe and well maintained.
- Conduct routine health & safety checks; report hazards or faults.
- Assist with moving and handling furniture and equipment as required.
- Oversee external contractors and assist with site access where needed.
- Maintain stock of maintenance supplies and equipment.
Qualifications:
- Full UK driving licence for the required vehicle category.
- Good driving record and confident driving ability.
- Basic practical skills in maintenance and DIY tasks.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Understanding of health & safety practices.
- At least 6 months UK‑based work experience in any sector.
- DVLA check required; initial DBS check will be paid for by the employer.
