Hours: 35hrs per week, term-time only

Our Outstanding School in Mirfield is looking for an experienced Class Teacher to join the dedicated and well-established team on a full-time basis.

Key Aspects of Your Role

  • Identifying needs, assessing levels of ability and planning sessions which will meet the requirements of the children and develop their learning.
  • Effectively delivering the personalised curriculum ensuring that the individual needs and interests of the children in the setting are met and supporting other team members to do this.
  • Supporting the children throughout the day in order to develop independence, facilitate participation and learning, and develop physical and communication skills.
  • Contributing towards designing and managing a varied and balanced curriculum to meet the needs of every student within the resources available, in accordance with the mission and ethos of the school.
  • To ensure a high standard of physical, emotional, social and intellectual care for young children with a wide range of disabilities to develop a degree of independence and to improve quality of life.

The Successful Candidate Will

  • Be a qualified Teacher with appropriate qualifications and experience working in a similar environment.
  • Have previous experience of working with children and young people with profound and multiple learning disabilities, physical disabilities, and sensory impairments.
  • Have a deep understanding of, and be committed to, the safeguarding of children and young people.
  • Have a positive approach to working alongside families and carers.
