At Holly House, you’ll be joining a well-established, progressive practice offering both general practice and mid-tier referral services, with certificate-holder‑led departments in surgery, dentistry, and exotics. The caseload is varied and worked up to a high clinical standard, giving you great exposure to both routine and more complex cases. The practice is fully equipped with advanced diagnostics including CT, X‑ray, ultrasound, laparoscopy, and endoscopy, alongside purpose‑built consulting rooms, an isolation ward, and a spacious prep and theatre suite. High standards of care are supported by multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring and a ventilator.
Based in north Leeds near Roundhay Park with excellent transport links, the large and supportive team includes 16 vets, a strong nursing team, and dedicated emergency care staff, providing wraparound support across hospital, GP clinics, and an exotics‑only service. How You’ll Make a Difference
As a Primary Care Veterinary Surgeon, you’ll work collaboratively with the wider practice team to deliver a high standard of patient and client care across a varied and rewarding caseload. You’ll continue to develop your clinical skills and interests while sharing your knowledge and experience with colleagues, contributing positively to the clinical culture of the practice. You’ll be an integral member of the clinical team, delivering excellent care and supporting the ongoing development of those around you.
40 hours over 4 days per week on a rota basis, an on call rota (night cover is needed two nights every 7/8 months) and a share of the bank holiday rota, planned in advance. 1:6 weekends with toil given in lieu. The role will work across surgical, medical, and emergency departments with some exotic work. Duties include consulting, client care, routine and complex procedures, triage, routine and complex inpatient care, and running diagnostic tests (lab/radiography/CT) across a range of species (cats/dogs/rabbits/reptiles/birds/small mammals).
