We're seeking a dedicated onsite HR Assistant to join the team at one of London's and the UK's leading independent schools.
The HR Assistant will have specific responsibility for managing the school's internal cover function and managing the associated HR responsibilities such as absences, sickness tracking etc. All cover is provided internally so there are no external agencies to manage. This varied and rewarding role would suit someone with excellent organisational skills, strong communication abilities, and the initiative to manage multiple priorities calmly and efficiently.
Responsibilities of the HR Assistant include:
- Arranging lesson cover for planned and unplanned absences
- Managing staff absence records and correspondence
- Supporting HR functions including recruitment, induction, and personnel file maintenance
- Liaising with staff and external contacts with professionalism and discretion
- Maintaining accurate records and supporting HR compliance
Requirements:
- Strong IT skills and familiarity with school management systems
- Strong interpersonal and written communication skills
- Ability to manage competing deadlines and work independently
- GCSEs (grades A-C) in English and Maths; educated to A-Level standard
The HR Assistant will be contracted for full-time hours onsite, working Monday to Friday 7.30am-4.00pm and 8.00am-4.00pm during school holidays. There is also the option for term-time only plus four weeks (39 working weeks in total).
