This is a full-time, on-site Sports Coach role based in the London Area, United Kingdom, with regular work across Essex schools and community venues. The Sports Coach will plan and deliver age-appropriate sports and physical education sessions for children, ensuring activities are safe, inclusive, and engaging. Daily responsibilities include preparing equipment, setting up and supervising sessions, managing groups of children, and adapting activities to different abilities and needs. The role involves working closely with school staff, parents, and colleagues to support each child’s development and promote positive behavior, teamwork, and fair play. The coach will also complete basic session reporting, attend training and staff meetings, and uphold safeguarding and health and safety standards at all times.

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Physical Education and Sports Training to design and deliver structured, age-appropriate activities.
  • Proven experience in Coaching and Sports Coaching, ideally with children or youth in school or community settings.
  • Excellent Communication skills to engage children, collaborate with school staff and families, and provide clear instructions and feedback.
  • Relevant coaching or sports-related certifications (e.g., national governing body awards, PE or sports coaching qualifications) are highly desirable.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage groups safely, maintain positive behavior, and create an inclusive, encouraging environment.
  • Understanding of safeguarding, child protection, and health and safety practices in youth sport settings.
  • Reliable, punctual, and organized, with flexibility to work within school hours and during occasional holiday or after-school programs.
  • Enhanced background check eligibility and authorization to work in the United Kingdom.
