We are now looking for a dynamic Associate Cost Manager to join and lead the team and help steer our cost management services in London/South East region. Based in our London office, you will be supporting a variety of exciting cost management instructions across a variety of building sectors, you will also closely collaborate with our wider cost management team. As the Associate Cost Management Lead, you will play a key role in leading and promoting our cost management services in the region.
You will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including business development activities, building relationships with new and existing clients, and contributing to securing new work. Additionally, you will work closely with the regional PM team to ensure the successful delivery of projects and provide cost management support. Your responsibilities will cover all aspects of pre and post‑contract cost management, including preparing feasibility cost plans, pricing exercises, and cost reports. You will also support the tender process, attend site meetings, and assist in preparing cost appraisals and benchmarking studies. Managing monthly project billing and WIP will be crucial to ensure our projects stay on track.
To be successful in this role, you should have a degree or MSc in Quantity Surveying, ideally with some work experience in a commercial property environment. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel is essential, and experience with AutoCAD would be advantageous.
Responsibilities- Responsible for project performance for cost management projects in the region
- With the service head, develop a business plan for the growth of cost management in the region
- Responsible for managing a team of cost managers and developing a recruitment plan with the service head
- Work closely with the regional PM team on project delivery and providing cost management support
- Actively promote the cost management service in the region for the purposes of business development
- Attending site to view project progress and assist in preparation of cost reports and valuations
- Lead in the preparation of pricing documents for tender purposes and support on administering the tender process
- Attend proposed sites to assess abnormal cost impacts and restrictions and support on preparation of cost plans
- Meet target KPIs on work in progress (WIP) management including hours into work in progress (HIW)
- Drive adherence to Health & Safety procedures
- Responsibility for the team’s continuous professional learning

- Degree or MSc in Quantity Surveying with ideally some work experience in a Real Estate and commercial property environment
- Lead projects through all stages - experienced in client care, fee proposals, completion and handover
- Experience of delivering real estate projects (not infrastructure) from feasibility through to completion
- Sector experience – logistics & industrial, residential, office useful but not essential
- Experience of preparing accurate cost plans, tendering procedures and post contract valuations and cost reporting
- Able to demonstrate a knowledge of the regional market and be established in the London/South East construction market
