This Finance Manager role reports into the Financial Controller, with the aim to produce accurate and timely reflections of the business activities according to the agreed accounting standards, whilst identifying areas of strengths and improvement opportunities.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
  • Preparation of monthly accounts to completion.
  • Quarterly forecasting and annual budget.
  • Oversight of cashbook, purchase and sales ledgers.
  • Preparation and submission of all tax related items: VAT, duties, salary related tax and corporation tax.
  • Business support in preparation of board level financial reporting, with current trading vs budget, vs prior year.
  • Maintain Group consolidation (4 companies) for reporting purposes (multi-currency).
  • Provide analysis of key financial results and variances.
  • Preparation of audit file for yearend (December).
  • Project work.
  • Support to the Financial Controller, as required.
  • Support with the monthly payroll (Sage50).
  • Support with monthly pension.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • 3-5 years Industry experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • 2-3 years of multi-currency, multi company consolidations.
  • Understanding of standard costs.
  • Understanding of accounting manufacture absorption accounting techniques.
DESIRABLE SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
  • Sage Payroll and Sage HR experience.
  • Experience of Microsoft AX would be an advantage.
QUALIFICATIONS
  • ACCA qualified.
  • Advanced Excel – indexing, error, sumif, pivot tables, graphs.
PERSONAL QUALITIES/ATTRIBUTES
  • Ability to work accurately to committed timelines.
  • High level of organisational and planning skills.
  • Problem solving and analytical capability.
  • Would suit someone previously within an accountancy practice who has moved into manufacturing.
