The predicted salary is between 33865 - 41391 £ per year.

Grade: NJC Scale Point range 32-36.

Contract Type: Permanent.

Hours: 36.25 hours per week – Monday to Friday (flexibility around working times offered).

Working Pattern: All Year Round.

Salary: £42,839 - £47,181 FTE pro‑rated (pending NJC pay award).

Role: Governance and Compliance Manager – leading the Trust‑wide compliance strategy (outside Finance, Health & Safety, ICT and Staffing) and ensuring the Trust operates within statutory frameworks. The post is based at the Trust Head Office in Rochdale, with travel to our schools.

Responsibilities:

  • Design audit schedules, website compliance checks, policy reviews and risk registers.
  • Benchmark services to support sustainable Trust growth.
  • Advise Trustees and Local Governors, lead central panels and provide balanced support and challenge.
  • Act as Clerk to the Board or its committees.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory guidance in education and maintain Trust structures.

Qualifications:

  • Strong background in education governance and compliance.
  • Good understanding of trust structures and statutory guidance.
  • Experience acting as a Clerk to a Board or its committees.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication skills with ability to advise and lead.
