Job Scope
We are looking for an energetic and self‑motivated Part 1 Assistant Architect to join our friendly team. Part I Architectural Assistants are an important part of the design team, who will be assisting the senior project leaders throughout the RIBA stages of work from conception to completion. There is also the opportunity to assist the Interior Design and Landscape Design teams, providing interesting and varied duties and professional development.
Job Context
The tasks and responsibilities of this position cover, but are not limited to:
- Supporting the senior team in all areas across a range of projects
- Producing hand‑drawn sketches
- Providing assistance on Photoshop and InDesign documents/presentations
- Producing 2D drawings/drafting work
- Modelling up surveys in 3D of existing buildings ready for the Project Lead to take onto Concept Design
- Any other ad‑hoc responsibility that may arise as part of a project
- To undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required
You will be guided by senior members of staff and report directly to the project leads you are assisting. Dependent on progress, you may be given your own small projects to run whilst under the supervision of senior staff members.
Skills & Qualifications
- Experience of ArchiCAD, Photoshop, Indesign, Microsoft packages
- Experience of Illustrator, TwinMotion – 3Ds Max, Grasshopper desirable
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Flexibility and the ability to adapt to changing circumstances
- Exceptional time management, planning and meticulous attention to detail
- Capable of communicating design ideas verbally and through design
Personal Qualities
- Great communication skills and able to build strong work relationships, internally and externally
- Excellent proficiency in English, both written and spoken
- Enthusiastic, friendly, highly‑motivated with a can‑do attitude
- Ability to take guidance
- Organised and efficient
