About the role: Consultants at Holland Mountain hold overall accountability for a project, programme or portfolio. They will also be accredited to lead specialist engagements e.g. vendor selections, operational reviews; providing project leadership in support of client engagements. As a subject matter expert, they will be responsible for coaching & developing others. You will be working closely with top private equity firms on engagements with the responsibility for project management and producing high quality deliverables. This person will lead workstreams and projects. They will oversee project governance, in addition to having direct responsibility of a small team, in a line management and/or project capacity. The role offers a mixture of business analysis, strategic consulting and planning responsibilities along with an element of team management where delegation and prioritisation of tasks is essential in completing projects to plan.
Who are we looking for? Ideally, you will come from a consulting background with a proven track record of delivering complex projects to time and budget. You will have direct experience of private equity, come from a specialist finance/accounting background or have experience of middle office operations. Alternatively, generalist candidates with exposure to process mapping, business systems or operations consulting in other industries would be considered. You will demonstrate an aptitude for project management using Agile and/or Waterfall methodologies, as well as plenty of client facing experience - this role requires exceptional communication and stakeholder engagement skills, both internally and externally.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Begin to act as a Project Director with Strategic Director oversight, utilising subject matter expertise across a range of projects e.g. subsets of engagements.
- Undertake a more senior role on engagements and lead multiple consulting projects at any one time.
- Be confident leading any external client meetings, including SteerCo’s and weekly status updates, being the key point of contact for the client.
- You will continue building on your leadership skills by supporting the development of individuals on your projects.
- If appropriate for the business you may start to take on responsibilities related to line management or coaching.
- Develop SME knowledge on specific topics, based on experience obtained through Holland Mountain consulting engagements, previous employment and/or professional qualifications.
- Enhance internal profile, leading forums, training and initiatives across the company, managing resourcing across internal projects and providing regular updates.
- Begin to contribute towards AD / BD, identifying and leading opportunities for engagement extensions and supporting the Sales & BD team with new engagement leads.
- Operate with a commercial mindset, being aware of company sales targets and allocations, ensuring budgets, staff allocations, invoicing and other key metrics are maintained and completed in a timely manner.
