Higher Level Teaching Assistant

We are looking to recruit a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join our support team at Holland Junior School. This is a term time only role (including working INSET days), working Monday - Friday 8:30am - 3:30pm. This role will be primarily based in our SEND unit, but may also include work in the mainstream classes too.

We are looking for someone with experience as a HLTA or cover supervisor, covering classes. This could also be a role suitable for a highly experienced teaching assistant who has aspirations to be a cover supervisor or HLTA. For those candidates without HLTA status, we will be able to consider applications for a cover supervisor role still, but please note that a cover supervisor role is paid at NJC 9-3 (£29,196-£31,019).

Holland Junior School is a 2-form entry junior school, graded 'Good' by Ofsted. We have dedicated teachers, including specialist teachers teaching PE and Music. We have a strong team of teaching assistants across the school who work in classes, as well as working in our SEND unit - Maple Class - which is a Communication and Interaction Centre for children on the Autistic Spectrum with communication and interaction difficulties.

An Enhanced DBS certificate will be required on provisional offer, including a check of the Children's Barred List. Where applicable, if an applicant with a provisional offer of employment has lived and/or worked outside the UK, they will be required to obtain a Certificate of Good Conduct or other overseas police check. Candidates will be required to arrange this themselves if they do not already have the necessary certificate.
