HG Recruit is delighted to be working in partnership with a welcoming and inclusive primary school in Marple, Stockport, to recruit a dedicated and compassionate SEN Teaching Assistant to support pupils within Key Stage 2. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about helping children with additional needs thrive both academically and emotionally. The successful candidate will work closely with the class teacher and SEND team to provide tailored support that enables every pupil to reach their full potential.
The Role
- Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with special educational needs
- Support children in KS2 with their learning, confidence, and social development
- Work closely with the class teacher to adapt activities and resources
- Help implement EHCP targets and intervention strategies
- Encourage positive behaviour and emotional regulation
- Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment
- Support pupils with literacy, numeracy, and classroom engagement
About You
- Previous experience working with children with SEN / SEND, ideally in a primary school setting
- Experience supporting pupils in KS2
- A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- The ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff, and parents
- A genuine passion for supporting children with additional needs
- Experience supporting pupils with needs such as autism, ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or SEMH would be highly desirable.
