The Purpose Of The Role

As our Procurement Officer, You\’ll take the lead on procuring Retail and Supply Chain products and services, ensuring value for money while staying aligned with company policies. As part of this, you\’ll work closely with internal stakeholders to understand their priorities and shape commercial solutions that meet operational needs.

Building on those relationships, you\’ll also manage supplier negotiations – driving cost savings and unlocking efficiency improvements that support the wider business strategy.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Supply Chain and Retail Procurement teams on major procurement projects.
  • Work with data to compare spend reports, supplier details, and budgets—helping to track savings from tenders and negotiations.
  • Focus on sourcing strategies, understanding budget needs, and ensuring compliance and risk are well managed.
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving opportunities across procurement activities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with finance, operations, and legal teams to align procurement activity with wider business goals.
  • Contribute to contract management, including renewals, extensions, and ensuring terms are up to date and beneficial.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure service levels, quality, and compliance are maintained.

Location: This role is based in Nuneaton, and may be occasionally required to travel to other locations of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with minimum 2 days presence in the office

Key Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of procurement processes, with a good grasp of contract law and vendor management.
  • Proven ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders and suppliers to influence commercial outcomes.
  • Confident analysing spend data, supplier information, and budgets to identify savings and support decision-making.
  • Skilled in managing multiple procurement projects, balancing priorities and meeting deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with experience engaging across all levels of the business.
  • Familiar with strategic sourcing, and able to align procurement activity with budget, compliance, and risk requirements.
  • Demonstrated success in delivering cost savings and improving procurement processes.
  • Self-sufficient and proactive, with experience managing new supplier relationships and contributing to strategic decisions.
