About Holland & Barrett
At Holland & Barrett, we’re over 150 years old — and building like a startup. We’ve gone all-in on digital, becoming a fully cloud-native organisation using Kubernetes, containers, serverless, and event-driven architecture. We’re building a secure, world-class internal platform and need a DevSecOps leader to make it happen. This is a greenfield platform role with real ownership. You’ll lead the creation of a secure, scalable operational platform designed first and foremost for developers. Our goal is a seamless, automated, secure path to production — security built in, not bolted on. We believe in “platform as a product”. Your platform will power how teams across the business build, ship, and operate software — safely, quickly, and with confidence.
The Role
As Platform Engineering Manager (DevSecOps), you’ll lead a talented team of engineers and shape both the technical direction and the DevSecOps culture. This is a hands-on leadership role where strategy meets delivery.
You’ll Be Trusted To
- Own the security, architecture, and roadmap of our operational platform
- Embed security and automation across the full SDLC
- Champion collaboration between engineering, security, and operations
- Raise the bar on engineering excellence and developer experience
What You’ll Do
- Design, build, and run a secure cloud-native platform (AWS)
- Lead and mentor a high-performing DevSecOps/platform team
- Define and deliver the DevSecOps roadmap
- Drive security automation, CI/CD, and infrastructure as code
- Partner closely with development teams to remove friction and enable speed
Key Requirements
- Proven experience leading DevSecOps or platform engineering teams
- Strong hands-on knowledge of cloud security (AWS)
- Deep understanding of CI/CD, IaC, and security automation
- Experience with Docker, Kubernetes, and modern cloud tooling
- A product mindset and genuine passion for developer experience
- Clear communication and the ability to influence at all levels
Why Holland & Barrett?
- Real impact: You’ll shape a core platform used across the business
- Modern tech: Cloud-native, greenfield, no legacy constraints
- Remote-first: Work from anywhere, with a global team
- Purpose-led: Helping people live healthier, happier lives
