Contract: This is a 12‑month fixed‑term role.
The Role: Transformation is one of those words that can mean everything or nothing, depending on the business behind it. At Holland & Barrett, it means something - the Transformation Office is where genuine, ambitious change gets designed, challenged, and delivered. As Programme Manager, you'll sit close to the decisions that matter, work with people who are serious about execution, and have the kind of visibility that makes your work feel like it counts. You'll be joining a business that has real momentum - one that's investing properly in its transformation capability and building the infrastructure to make change land, not just launch. This is a 12-month maternity cover, but the impact is real, and the exposure you'll gain is the kind that moves careers forward.
What You'll Be Doing:
- Owning the integrated programme plan end-to-end - milestones, dependencies, risks, the lot - and keeping it honest when reality decides to test it.
- Running programme governance that actually works: chairing reviews, driving resolution on risks and issues before they land on the SLT's desk.
- Being the person who translates complexity into clarity - for executive stakeholders, for cross-functional teams, and for the Project Managers you'll mentor along the way.
- Building stakeholder engagement and communication plans that keep everyone pointing in the same direction, even when priorities shift.
- Partnering with Finance and initiative owners to track benefits and make sure the numbers mean what they're supposed to mean.
How We'll See Your Impact:
- Programmes delivered on time, in scope, with business adoption that sticks.
- Financial targets and benefits realisation that hold up to scrutiny.
- A governance model that gives leaders the right information to make the right calls.
The Person: What you'll need:
- Programme leadership credentials - a track record of delivering large-scale transformation in complex, cross-functional environments, ideally within retail.
- Stakeholder confidence - you're comfortable in a room with senior leaders, know how to give them a clear view without oversimplifying or overwhelming, and have the influencing skills to drive alignment when it doesn't come easily.
- Frameworks and tools - solid working knowledge of Agile and Waterfall methodologies, and fluency in tools like MS Project, Monday.com or Jira.
- Resilience and adaptability - the ability to hold a long-term vision steady while the short-term keeps moving around you.
- Communication that lands - written and verbal, at every level of the organisation.
What We Offer:
- The salary reflects impact of the role.
- 25 days holiday + 8 Bank Holidays.
- 25% staff discount across our range - plus free online delivery - so you can live the wellness you help deliver.
- Pension contributions - because future-you deserves a break.
- Free wellness diagnostic tests - knowing your health is the first step to improving it.
- Exclusive discounts on wellness services, gym memberships, and more.
- Perks from other retailers - discounts, advice, and savings from brands you actually use.
- A culture of wellbeing - from mental health support to menopause coaching, we're serious about helping you feel your best.
