Location: We offer hybrid working, with an expectation that you'll be present at our Holland & Barrett office in Nuneaton (CV10 7RH) for a minimum of 2 days per week. We welcome applications on either a full‑time basis (37 hours) or part‑time basis (30 hours).
The Role: Holland & Barrett is growing - more markets and more complexity which means more data. The legal and ethical responsibility that comes with that is something we take seriously, and our Data Protection team is central to getting it right. This is a chance to join that team at a genuinely interesting moment and get under the skin of how a major international retailer manages its data protection obligations.
What You'll Actually Be Doing:
- Managing the Privacy Portal day‑to‑day – handling data subject rights requests including DSARs, erasures and complaints within regulatory timelines.
- Coordinating the full DSAR process from discovery through to disclosure, redaction and application of exemptions under UK GDPR.
- Managing erasure requests and ensuring direct requests are accurately logged in the system.
- Coordinating CCTV disclosure requests – securing, viewing, redacting and disclosing footage appropriately.
- Assisting with the investigation of GDPR complaints from customers and employees.
- Keeping all Privacy Rights Logs accurate and up to date.
- Supporting the Deputy DPO and DPO with presentation materials and wider team activity.

- DSARs and rights requests are handled accurately and on time – every time – keeping H&B compliant and reducing regulatory risk.
- The Deputy DPO and DPO have the headspace to focus on strategic projects because the day‑to‑day is in safe hands.
- Internal stakeholders across Legal, HR, Marketing and Tech feel well‑supported on data protection queries.
What You’ll Need:
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast‑moving environment.
- Excellent written communication – you'll be responding to customers and employees on sensitive matters.
- Proficiency across the Microsoft Office suite – Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- A genuine interest in data protection and a willingness to learn – prior GDPR knowledge is a bonus, not a requirement.
- Experience in retail or customer services would be an advantage.
- Familiarity with tools like OneTrust, Zendesk or Secure Redact is helpful, but full training will be provided.
