About Data At Holland & Barrett. Data is the beating heart at Holland & Barrett. Our data teams - comprised of Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, BI, Data Science and Product Analytics - are essential to enabling H&B's vision of becoming the world's leader in personalised wellness journeys.

The Role:

  • Support the development and maintenance of scalable data pipelines and services using AWS (Glue, Lambda, Step Functions, S3, Athena).
  • Write clean, well-documented code in Python or another modern programming language.
  • Assist with infrastructure deployments using infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and development workflows using GitLab CI.
  • Help monitor, maintain, and improve data platforms using tools like CloudWatch or Datadog.
  • Collaborate with Data Science, BI, and Analytics teams to deliver secure, reliable data solutions.

Location: This role is based in London, with the requirement to be in the office at least two days per week.

The Person:

  • Essential: Programming skills in Python or another modern language (Java, Scala, Go, etc.).
  • Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of SQL.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a remote friendly team.
  • A proactive mindset with a genuine eagerness to learn and develop.
  • Desirable: Exposure to AWS services (S3, Lambda, Glue, Athena, Redshift, DynamoDB).
  • Familiarity with CI/CD concepts, version control, containerisation tools and orchestration tools (e.g. Airflow).

Nice to Have on your CV:

  • Academic, internship, or project experience in cloud or data engineering.
  • Familiarity with serverless/event-driven architectures.
  • Interest in building data services and exploring new technologies.
