Location & Working Arrangement: Burton upon Trent, Staffordshire. Permanent | 40 hours per week | 10-hour shifts | Tuesday - Friday 21:00-07:00. This role is based at our Burton manufacturing site and requires on-site presence 4 days per week.

As a Night Shift Engineer, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our manufacturing operation running safely, efficiently and reliably. Working across a range of packaging, filling, labelling and sealing equipment, you’ll help ensure our products reach customers to the highest standards while supporting continuous improvement across the site.

Responsibilities:

  • Putting health and safety first in everything you do.
  • Carrying out planned preventative maintenance and responding to equipment breakdowns.
  • Providing both electrical and mechanical maintenance support across production machinery.
  • Diagnosing faults and resolving issues to minimise downtime.
  • Supporting the installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Working closely with production and warehouse teams to maintain operational efficiency.
  • Contributing to continuous improvement projects that enhance productivity and performance.
  • Ensuring all equipment is maintained to GMP, regulatory and safety standards.

Qualifications:

  • Experience in an engineering maintenance role within a manufacturing, production or packaging environment.
  • Strong electrical and mechanical fault‑finding skills.
  • Knowledge of PLCs and automated machinery.
  • Ability to read and interpret electrical wiring diagrams.
  • Understanding of preventative maintenance schedules and engineering best practice.
  • Awareness of relevant engineering legislation, safety requirements and compliance standards.
  • A proactive approach to problem‑solving and continuous improvement.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across teams.
