As a Senior Commercial Analyst in the Core Business Analytics team, you\’ll support the Commercial Operations function with a focus on supplier performance, deal effectiveness, and commercial contribution. You\’ll partner closely with Supplier Terms, Category, Trading, and Commercial Ops teams to provide insights that strengthen supplier negotiations and improve the value derived from commercial agreements.

The Role

What You\’ll Do

  • Lead analytics delivery for supplier performance, commercial contribution, and terms agreement tracking.
  • Partner with Supplier Terms, Category, and Commercial stakeholders to evaluate deal outcomes and supplier impact.
  • Build dashboards in Metabase to monitor supplier-level performance, agreement effectiveness, and compliance.
  • Create analytics which demonstrate commercial optimisation opportunities & targets.
  • Write clean, efficient SQL to analyse data across trading, rebate, promotional, and category-level metrics.
  • Deliver insights that support negotiations, supplier scorecards, and performance reviews.
  • Own analysis of agreement value, rebate accuracy, and deal profitability.
  • Contribute to development of tools that track supplier performance over time and model commercial scenarios.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with BI Developers, Embedded Analysts, and Supplier Performance teams to deliver end-to-end data products.
  • Mentor mid-level analysts and help strengthen capability across the Commercial Ops analytics team.
  • Work with a modern data stack, including Redshift, BigQuery, Matillion, and Retool.

Location: This is a hybrid role, with 2 per week expected in our Nuneaton office (CV10 7RH)

What We\’re Looking For

  • SQL expertise: Confident writing advanced queries to analyse large datasets across trading, rebate, and commercial metrics.
  • Supplier and commercial acumen: Strong understanding of supplier contribution, deal structures, and commercial KPIs.
  • Stakeholder leadership: Comfortable working with Heads of Commercial, Supplier Terms, and Trading to influence decisions.
  • Communication: Explains insights clearly, supports negotiations with data, and adapts outputs to commercial context.
  • Delivery ownership: Leads end-to-end projects independently, from scoping to delivery and follow-up.
  • Visualisation: Builds dashboards in Metabase or equivalent tools that support category and supplier teams.
  • Team contribution: Mentors others, shares best practices, and strengthens the team through collaboration.
  • Education & Experience: You have a degree in a quantitative field such as Mathematics, Economics, or Statistics, and 4-6 years of experience in analytics-preferably with exposure to supplier performance, commercial trading, or rebate analytics in a retail or FMCG environment.
