About the roleAt Holland & Barrett, we\’re over a century old – and building like a startup. We\’ve completed a major shift to a cloud‐native architecture, using containers, Kubernetes, serverless, and event‐driven services at scale. As our cloud footprint continues to grow, we\’re looking for a Cloud Security Engineer to help keep it secure by design.
This is a hands‐on role focused on securing modern cloud platforms without slowing teams down. Our ambition is to build a scalable, automated cloud security posture that evolves as fast as our infrastructure – enabling innovation while keeping risk firmly under control.
The RoleAs a Cloud Security Engineer, you\’ll work closely with platform and DevOps teams to design and operate secure cloud environments. You\’ll embed security into architecture, automation, and day‐to‐day cloud operations, acting as a subject‐matter expert and trusted advisor.
What You\’ll Do
Design and implement security controls across AWS and Azure
Secure cloud networking, identity, and data at scale
Automate cloud security controls using infrastructure as code
Assess cloud environments, identify risks, and drive remediation
Respond to and support investigation of cloud security incidents
Advise engineering teams on secure cloud architecture
Continuously improve cloud security posture and standards
Key requirements
Experience as a Cloud Security Engineer or similar role
Strong knowledge of cloud security best practices and threat models
Hands‐on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP security services
Proficiency with Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar IaC tools
Experience securing containers, Kubernetes, and serverless workloads
Familiarity with cloud security tooling for monitoring and incident response
A collaborative mindset and comfort working in fast‐paced environments
