The Trading Shop Manager is responsible for the management and successful delivery of the trading shop environment at the Nuneaton Hub. This role supports colleagues by offering a part‑time trading store for purchases and Click & Collect orders. The Trading Shop Manager ensures effective operations, accurate stock management, and strong customer service standards. This includes managing stock ordering, sales tracking, and creating a professional, store‑like experience that reflects Holland & Barrett standards.
The Role
- Operate and maintain the Nuneaton Trading Shop for colleague use.
- Manage and monitor sales performance, stock levels, and ordering processes.
- Select appropriate stock for sale, accounting for request and demand and monitor performance and success of the shop.
- Responsible for sales turnover of c.£50,000 p.a. and c.2,500 Click & Collect parcels via the Trading Shop.
- Provide an excellent customer experience for colleagues.
- Set up and maintain Click & Collect functionality, working with the Burton DC to reduce delivery costs to colleagues.
- Work closely with the Mock Shop manager to ensure smooth day‑to‑day operations, including till systems, Click & Collect processes, and replenishment routines.
- Act as the first point of contact for Nuneaton colleagues regarding Trading Shop queries.
- Support with the Trade Feedback process providing valuable insight of activity and feeding back any issues to the relevant teams.
- Support the Store Standards team with relevant material for store documentation.
- Support the Retail Operations Manager with store communication content for sales driving initiatives and Promotional Bulletins.
The Person
- Experience in a store management, assistant management, or supervisory retail role.
- Strong organisational and stock management skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Ability to analyse sales data and adjust stock orders accordingly.
- Confident in using retail systems and tills.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Capable of manual handling, stock movement, and maintaining shop floor standards.
- Proactive, solutions‑focused, and self‑motivated.
- Able to balance day‑to‑day shop management with longer‑term planning and reporting.
