The eCommerce Manager is responsible for driving growth and performance across your category areas both on the website and app for the UK and Ireland. You are a primary point of contact for your commercial category teams, where you will work with them to shape and deliver digital category strategies that are aligned with the business category strategies. This is a highly visible role where you will regularly be collaborating with a range of stakeholders across Digital, Commercial, Tech, Retail Operations, Marketing, and Finance and ensuring alignment for all plans to drive performance and experience.
The Role: Key Responsibilities:
- E-commerce Strategy & Execution: Develop and implement comprehensive category strategies to achieve and exceed revenue and profitability targets. Analyse market trends, customer behaviour, and competitive landscape to identify growth opportunities.
- Marketplace Management: Identify opportunities to build out new ranges on our new in-house Marketplace platform. Be accountable for product listing optimisation, pricing, advertising, and inventory management. Manage relationships with marketplace vendors to leverage promotional opportunities, advertising opportunities, maximise stock and resolve issues.
- Performance Optimisation and Analysis: Constantly monitor key performance indicators (KPIs), including traffic, conversion rates, average order value, and customer growth. Use data-driven insights to identify and implement continuous improvements to site and category performance and marketplace operations. Collaborate with marketing and creative teams to drive compelling campaigns and promotions across channels. Lead on key financial reporting and provide updates on core actions being taken across your areas on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis. Attend the key range review meetings for your category and support with insights and build top class launch plans.
- Collaboration: Work closely with the commercial and digital teams to develop new opportunities and execute the category strategies. Collaborate with a wide range of functions including the wider digital team, product, engineering, UX, operations, and customer service teams to ensure seamless end-to-end customer experiences.
- Inventory & Supply Chain Coordination: Work closely with supply chain planning and logistics teams to ensure accurate inventory levels across all sales channels. Forecast demand for and coordinate replenishment strategies to minimise stockouts and build opportunities to sell through excess inventory.
- Listing Management: Continuously monitor the NPD pipeline and add new ranges to the website in a timely manner. Ensure all data being provided is optimised for the website and customer and enhance where necessary. Have robust processes for managing end of life products to ensure they are removed at the appropriate point and any redirects applied.
- Promotional Activity & Planning: Brief onsite assets to support your category performance across each promotional period, working with the activity planning team to ensure these are briefed within the timeframes set, taking into account key commercial, NPD, and campaign focus areas. Implement on-site promotional activity and promotional changeovers and ensure a quality control process.
- Customer Experience: Drive initiatives to enhance the customer journey, from discovery to post-purchase with data at the heart of all decisions. Oversee the resolution of customer inquiries and issues related to ecommerce and marketplace transactions.
Location: This role can be based in Nuneaton or London, and occasionally requires travel to any other location of H&B. We support flexibility and productivity of our employees by hybrid working arrangements with a minimum of 2 days presence in the office.
The Person: Key Requirements:
- E-commerce Knowledge: Strong knowledge of e-commerce principles and environment, including promotional strategies, customer journey mapping, and trading cycles.
- Analytics and Reporting Tools: Proficiency in using digital analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics, Tableau, Metabase, Content Square) to measure performance metrics.
- Content and Platform Management: Knowledge of content management systems (CMS) and merchandising tools to drive website and app performance.
- Market Trends and Competitor Analysis: Expertise in monitoring market trends and competitive activities, translating insights into actionable strategies to maintain market leadership.
- Direct to consumer (D2C): Clear track record of driving growth and performance within a D2C environment.
- Revenue Growth and Innovation: Track record of identifying and quickly implementing revenue-driving opportunities, such as new promotional tactics, range expansion, and building partnership opportunities.
- Performance Optimisation: Hands-on experience using analytics tools to evaluate performance and implement data-driven improvements.
- Data Analysis and Problem-Solving: Ability to analyse complex data sets to identify trends, address challenges, and continuously offer new solutions.
- Collaboration and Stakeholder Management: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal teams and external partners.
