As part of our ongoing growth and innovation, we are seeking a UK-based Environmental Officer Professional Development Manager to join our corporate department in Southampton.
Role Overview:
The Manager, Environmental Officer (EO) Support is responsible for assisting the Carnival Cruise Line Compliance Officer Environmental (COE) and shipboard Environmental Officers (EOs). This role is pivotal in ensuring the efficient scheduling of EOs onboard and supporting their career development. Responsibilities include arranging CSMART training sessions, identifying training needs, and maintaining the pool of EOs by coordinating with HR to identify hiring needs and manage the recruitment process. The Manager, EO Support is instrumental in the success of our EO program, providing direction and coordination with relevant stakeholders as needed.
This position is based in Southampton, UK, and offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to our commitment to environmental compliance and excellence.
This pivotal role will involve:
- Manage End of Term calls for CCL Environmental Officers and identify continual improvement opportunities for individual Environmental Officer career paths
- Oversee shipboard Environmental Officers, including scheduling and developing/implementing recruitment strategies and managing career progression
- Maintain adequate pool of Environmental Officers, identify hiring needs, and collaborate with recruiting HR partners in hiring process
- Managing and executing a ship visit program for CCL EO\’s focused on ensuring individuals are visited in person at appropriate intervals
- Approve CCL Environmental Officers appraisals, maintain communication with Shipboard Captains and identify any need for improvement plans in addition manage the promotion process for CCL Environmental Officers
- Manage communications with CCL Environmental Officers, using the most effective tool for the subject i.e. meetings, emails, one on one calls
- Overseeing the planning and logistics of Environmental Leadership Development Program
This role is positioned at CUK08 level within our organisation and is available on a full-time basis. We offer hybrid work including up to two days from home.
