What You’ll Be Doing

  • Delivering planned maintenance and support with reactive work across mechanical, electrical and instrumentation systems
  • Owning electrical compliance on site (inspection/testing regimes, corrective actions, records)
  • Supporting site infrastructure, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement projects
  • Working safely on systems operating up to 415 V, with awareness of higher voltage where required
  • Acting as a point of contact for electrical technical decisions and contractor quality
  • Driving electrical reliability improvements and repeat‑failure elimination
  • Commissioning, validating, calibrating, and maintaining equipment, machinery, and field devices (instrumentation)
  • Electrical control systems, solenoids, contactors, trips, isolators, and utilities including chillers, compressors and steam boilers
  • Maintaining accurate documentation – including drawings, specifications and maintenance records
  • Supporting installation, testing and commissioning such as FAT, SAT, IQ and OQ
  • Operating as an authorised person under PTW / LOTO

You’ll mainly be based at Oceans Park in Wallasey, with the occasional visit to other sites. Standard hours are 40 hours per week, working between 08:00‑18:00 Monday to Friday, with flexibility and occasional out‑of‑hours support for breakdowns, maintenance and project work.

You’re hands‑on, solutions focused and enjoy keeping equipment and systems running safely and reliably. You take pride in doing things properly and have developed a strong multi‑discipline experience.

What You’re Great At (Essential)

  • Planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and instrumentation systems
  • Working to recognised engineering codes, electrical standards and site policies
  • Confident working with plant equipment, control systems, and mechanical/electrical assemblies
  • Using LOTOTO and Permit to Work systems for safe isolation
  • Working knowledge of CMMS systems, and experience of logging critical maintenance data
  • Managing spares and supporting reliability focused maintenance
  • Conducting root cause analysis and closing out actions, maintenance and safety
  • Maintaining and updating engineering documentation and line drawings
  • Understanding and experience with sensors, PLCs, HMIs, and VF drives

It’s a Bonus If You Also Have

  • Ability to use, communicate with, navigate and program PLC, HMI and VF drives
  • Experience with PLCs, DCS and automated systems including SCADA systems
  • Experience with inline process control instruments or digital monitoring systems
  • Familiarity with TPM, AM, RM, and 6S
  • QA experience or inspection knowledge
  • Contractor or vendor supervision experience
  • Mechanical experience with pneumatics, hydraulics, pumping systems, motor drives, gear boxes, agitators, pipework and pressure systems
  • Trained and proficient with basic workshop equipment including manual lathe, miller, pillar drill, pedestal grinder, power tools and hand tools
  • Welding and fabrication experience (understanding of codes)

Your Background

Essential:

  • NVQ Level 3 in Electrical Engineering / Electrical Maintenance
  • BS7671, 18th edition, IET Wiring Regulations
  • Demonstrable industrial fault‑finding on site relevant systems (panels, motors / drives, control circuits, etc)

Bonus:

  • Additional electrical qualifications (CPS Part P, ECS or equivalent)
  • IPAF or equivalent MEWP license
  • HNC (or equivalent) in Electrical, Mechanical, or Multiskilled Engineering
  • Abrasive wheel certificate
  • Ladder Safety Awareness
  • Recognised First Aid Certificate
