We’re Hiring: Meeting & Events Operations Supervisor
Lead from the floor and help deliver memorable events at Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre.
If you love the buzz of a busy event, take pride in getting every detail right, and enjoy leading a team from setup through to the last guest leaving, you’ll feel right at home with us.
We’re a busy 4-star hotel in the heart of Manchester, just minutes from Piccadilly Station, and we’re looking for a Meeting & Events Operations Supervisor to support our management team and oversee the smooth delivery of our conferences, meetings, and private events.
What You’ll Do
Event Delivery & Guest Experience:

- Ensure rooms are set up to specification and on time, including layouts, AV, and catering
- Act as a key point of contact for event organisers on the day
- Deliver a warm, professional welcome to clients and delegates
- Step in to resolve issues quickly and effectively
Bar & Beverage Service:
- Set up and run the bar for events, from drinks receptions to evening functions
- Maintain high standards of drinks service, presentation, and speed during busy periods
- Ensure responsible alcohol service in line with licensing requirements
Team Supervision & Development:
- Support, motivate, and guide the events team during service
- Assist with training new starters and ongoing team development
- Ensure clear communication between the events, kitchen, sales, and F&B teams
- Lead by example, setting the standard for service excellence
Operations & Standards:
- Support stock control, ordering, and wastage management for events and event bars
- Ensure compliance with food safety, health & safety, and licensing regulations
- Assist with rota planning and labour control where required
- Drive upselling opportunities across events, including drinks packages and add-ons
Supporting the Wider F&B Team:
- On occasion, you may be asked to support other areas of the F&B department, such as the restaurant or bar, depending on business needs
- This gives you broad experience across the hotel’s food and beverage operation
What You’ll Bring:
- Previous experience in meetings & events or banqueting, ideally at supervisor or team leader level
- Good bar experience is essential, as you’ll be responsible for running the bar at events
- Strong organisational and multitasking skills, with attention to detail
- Confident communication and leadership abilities
- A hands-on approach and the ability to stay calm under pressure
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including evenings and weekends, and across different areas of the F&B department when needed
What You Get:
- Share of gratuities, with 100% of tips going to the team
- Discounts across retail, restaurants & entertainment
- Free onsite gym + online fitness portal
- Global IHG Friends & Family hotel discounts
