Be part of the team behind every great event at Holiday Inn Manchester City Centre.
If you enjoy being on your feet, love working as part of a team, and get a buzz from seeing an event come together, you’ll feel right at home with us.
We’re a busy 4-star hotel in the heart of Manchester, just minutes from Piccadilly Station, and we’re looking for a Meeting & Events Operations Assistant to join our events team and help deliver our conferences, meetings, and private events.
What You’ll Do
Event Setup & Delivery:
- Set up meeting and event rooms to specification and on time, including furniture layouts, AV, and catering stations
- Serve food and refreshments to delegates and guests throughout the event
- Clear and reset rooms between sessions, and break down rooms at the end of each event
- Keep event spaces, equipment, and storage areas clean, tidy, and well organised
Guest & Client Experience:
- Deliver a warm, friendly welcome to clients and delegates
- Respond to guest requests promptly and pass any issues to your supervisor
- Help make every event run smoothly and leave a great impression
Bar & Beverage Service:
- Help set up and serve at event bars, from drinks receptions to evening functions
- Serve alcohol responsibly and in line with licensing requirements
Working as a Team:
- Work closely with the events supervisor, kitchen, and wider F&B team to deliver what clients expect
- On occasion, you may be asked to support other areas of the F&B department, such as the restaurant or bar, depending on business needs
- Follow food safety, health & safety, and hotel standards at all times
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience in hospitality, events, banqueting, or bar service is a bonus, but not essential, as full training will be given
- A positive, can-do attitude and a genuine willingness to help
- Good communication skills and a friendly, professional manner
- The ability to work well in a team and stay calm when it gets busy
- Physical fitness, as the role involves moving furniture and equipment and spending long periods on your feet
- Flexibility to work a variety of shifts, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends
What You Get:
- Share of gratuities, with 100% of tips going to the team
- Discounts across retail, restaurants & entertainment
- Free onsite gym + online fitness portal
- Global IHG Friends & Family hotel discounts
- Meals provided on duty
- Training and clear opportunities for career progression, including routes into supervisory roles
- Recognition and incentive schemes
If you’re looking to start or grow your career in hospitality and events, we’d love to hear from you.
