Job Description:
Conference & Events Manager or Assistant Conference & Events Manager seeking progression? We’ll hedge a guess that you’re able to spin 100 plates at once, not literally – of course, but you’re someone who thrives under pressure and is passionate about ensuring every event runs smoothly.
As clichéd as it sounds, you\’ll constantly want to change things up a bit, finding innovative and bespoke ways to put a smile on your customer’s face. You’ll be an expert at managing both the CEO of a business who needs a flawless, professional conference, and an over-bearing father of the bride who needs to be consistently updated to ensure his daughter’s day is as perfect as she is. These are little details that make you outstanding and mean you create memorable experiences for your customers.
What you’ll be doing as a Conference & Events Manager
- Leading the provision of an outstanding event management service
- Ensuring that every guest experiences a safe visit, exceeding all expectations surrounding cleanliness
- Coaching, mentoring and leading your C&B team with a trusting approach – ensuring their commitment to delivering outstanding and bespoke service
- Getting to know your customers and using your relationships to offer suggestions to enhance their experiences, making them unforgettable
- Working closely with your Operations Manager who will encourage you to love change and find your own unique ways to further enhance your guest experience
- Oh, and you’ll also be required to be a magician. Or at least be capable of juggling each event, customer and guest whilst not missing any details
- Managing stock and labour margins against your P&L.
What’ll make you a great fit for this Conference & Events Manager role
- You’ll already be an established in Conference & Events or Food & Beverage Management F&B background where you have looked after the MICE area
- You’ll enjoy using tech – we have lots of it to make your life easier and our guests experience more seamless
- You’ll love people – and as a result, have great interpersonal, communication skills and leadership skills
- Details? You love them! You’ll be incredibly attentive with guests as a result
- Flexible and able to remain focused on results under pressure and to challenging deadlines
- Self-motivated and confident
- Hard-working but FUN!
The benefits
- Discounts across retail, restaurants, events etc (because we know life isn’t just about work)
- Family and Friends discounts in hotels across the Kew Green Hotels estate
- International Travel at Employee Rate for other branded hotels within our brand family (and you’re not just limited to good old Britain – our family has hotels that span all over the world!)
- Parking on site for free
- Meals for free on shift – hard work is hungry work!
- Progression Room to grow, with opportunities across the UK and internationally
