You’ll lead from the front, creating a safe, welcoming and engaging environment for members and guests, while driving performance across service, safety and commercial targets.
Reporting to the Hotel Manager, you’ll be responsible for the overall success of the leisure club, leading your team to deliver consistently high standards and achieve key business objectives.
About the Role
You’ll lead the leisure function, ensuring it operates safely, efficiently and profitably while delivering an outstanding member and guest experience.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading the delivery of a high-quality, engaging Health & Leisure Club experience for members and guests.
- Managing and developing the leisure team, including Supervisors and Leisure Assistants, to deliver service excellence.
- Designing and delivering member programmes, including inductions and group exercise, to drive engagement and retention.
- Ensuring the club is clean, safe and presented to the highest standards at all times.
- Maintaining full compliance with all health, safety, hygiene and operational standards.
- Taking ownership of leisure KPIs including membership growth, revenue, retention and profitability.
- Driving local marketing initiatives and implementing commercial strategies to grow membership and secondary revenue streams.
- Managing budgets, stock control and financial performance to achieve targets.
- Overseeing reporting, audits and operational processes to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Working collaboratively with hotel leadership and central teams to align leisure operations with wider business goals.
About You
You’re a confident and commercially minded leader with a passion for health, fitness and delivering great service. You know how to motivate a team, drive results and create an environment where both people and performance thrive.
We’re looking for someone who brings:
- Proven experience in a Leisure Club Manager or senior leisure leadership role.
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to coach, develop and inspire a team.
- A solid understanding of health, safety and compliance within a leisure environment.
- Commercial awareness, with experience managing budgets, KPIs and revenue streams.
- Excellent communication and organisational skills.
- The ability to make confident decisions and lead in a fast-paced environment.
- A recognised Pool Responder qualification and First Aid certification.
- A relevant fitness or leisure qualification (Level 2 or above).
- A proactive, positive approach and a passion for continuous improvement.
