Guest Experience & Service Standards
- Deliver a prompt, courteous, and professional response to guest and internal maintenance requests.
- Ensure minimal disruption when working in guest areas and maintain a high standard of presentation.
- Proactively identify and resolve maintenance issues to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Maintain strong knowledge of hotel facilities to support guest queries where required.
Maintenance & Technical Duties
- Carry out planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance across the hotel.
- Maintain building systems including (but not limited to):
- Electrical systems (basic repairs, lighting, fault finding).
- Plumbing and water systems.
- HVAC and air conditioning units.
- Fixtures, fittings, and general fabric of the building.
Health, Safety & Compliance
- Comply with all health and safety legislation, including safe systems of work and risk assessments.
- Use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) appropriately at all times.
- Support compliance with statutory requirements (e.g. fire safety checks, water hygiene/Legionella controls).
- Report hazards, incidents, or defects promptly in line with company procedures.
Operational Efficiency & Cost Control
- Minimise waste and support energy efficiency initiatives across the hotel.
- Monitor stock levels of maintenance materials and report requirements.
- Use approved suppliers and follow procurement procedures.
- Support sustainability initiatives and environmental best practice.
Administration & Reporting
- Accurately log all maintenance tasks using the hotel's systems.
- Complete job records, checklists, and compliance documentation.
- Communicate effectively with other departments regarding maintenance issues.
- Escalate urgent or complex issues to the Chief Engineer.
Teamwork & Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with all hotel departments, particularly Housekeeping and Front Office.
- Support contractors on site and ensure compliance with hotel procedures.
- Assist in training and supporting junior team members where required.
General Duties
- Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the workshop, tools, and equipment.
- Ensure tools and equipment are used safely and maintained properly.
- Provide support during emergencies or critical incidents.
- Participate in training and continuous professional development.
Standards of Conduct
- Maintain a professional appearance and behaviour at all times.
- Act as a positive representative of the hotel.
- Adhere to all company policies, including health & safety, data protection, and code of conduct.
Flexibility
