Responsibilities

  • To deep clean guest areas allocated daily.
  • To ensure that designated areas are clean, tidy and amenities available during peak and off-peak hours.
  • To ensure store rooms are tidy and clear to the required standard.
  • To undertake special duties (e.g. high cleaning, changing area cleaning) directed by the Manager and other ad-hoc tasks that can normally be attributed to the role of Cleaner.
  • To report all disciplinary and grievance matters immediately to the Manager.
  • To ensure that the Cleaner store rooms are regularly cleaned and tidy.
  • To ensure customer supplies and accessories are replenished as required.
  • To ensure that Lost property is reported in line with Hotel's Policy.
  • To ensure that maintenance issues are communicated to a Duty Manager on duty.
  • To ensure that deep/specialist cleaning is carried out when requested in line with the Hotel's procedures, including floor polish, high dusting, carpet spot clean, polish doors and stairs brass, deep cleaning lift door rails, deep clean/polish rubbish bins etc.
  • To attend training and departmental meetings as requested.
  • To ensure that plant pots are clean in the guest areas.
  • To follow all health, safety and hygiene requirements when undertaking tasks throughout the Hotel.
  • To ensure all Personal Protective Equipment is used as required when carrying out tasks.
  • To take care of all Hotel equipment required to carry out duties and to report defects immediately.
  • To report immediately any matters concerning the Security of the Hotel to a Duty Manager on duty.
  • To ensure that all Health & Safety hazards found in Guest Areas (corridors, staircases etc.) are reported immediately to a Duty Manager.
  • To ensure that all accidents are reported to a Duty Manager on duty.

Costs and Efficiency

  • To arrive for work at the time specified on the Rota, correctly dressed for duty, as per the laid down procedure.
  • To deep clean all allocated areas to the set standard by following the Health Club Manager guidance.
  • To clean the number of allocated areas in line with the productivity levels required by the department budget.
  • To ensure all provided work tools/equipment are well maintained and in proper functional order.
  • To ensure safety and return of all keys in his/her possession.
  • To ensure that a job of the day is completed in every area daily.
  • To minimise wastage at all opportunities.
  • To ensure engineering issues are reported to the Duty Manager and fixed.
  • To ensure that bedroom linen is not used for cleaning.
  • To ensure cleaning and guest supply stocks are correctly used to prevent damage, overuse and wastage.
  • To ensure the energy and water management system is correctly used in the hotels.

Customer Relations

  • To report directly to the Health Club Manager.
  • To respond to guest comments positively passing feedback to Manager as appropriate.
  • To ensure that guests are greeted in a positive friendly manner and are offered assistance as appropriate.
  • To project a positive image to the Hotel at all times through manner and appearance.
  • To suggest ways of improving the Hotel and its facilities from feedback gained from Guests.
