A Day In The Life Of A Finance And Operations Assistant:

  • Revenue validation and posting of all revenue journals into the accounting system.
  • Cash control including preparation and posting of bank reconciliations, cash & credit card reconciliations.
  • Prepare monthly P&L accounts (actual vs budget).
  • Reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, ensuring variances and areas of risk are identified and actioned appropriately.
  • To prepare monthly/quarterly VAT returns and assist with VAT inspections as required.
  • Preparation of year end audit files, and liaising with auditors.
  • Maintenance of hotel pay in books and cheque deposits.
  • To support other members of the finance team (Purchase Ledger).
  • To support GMs & hotel personnel to understand and interpret financial reporting, including hotel finance training requirements.
  • Assist/cover Reception/Bar shifts.

What We Need From You:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a Finance background.
  • A people-person with front desk or guest services experience, and ideally some leadership skills under their belt.
  • Exceptional communication skills and a natural problem-solver, ready to step in when things get busy.
  • Organised and detail-oriented, especially when handling guest reservations and billing accuracy.
  • Team-focused and collaborative, creating a positive, supportive environment for colleagues and guests alike.
  • Ready to make quick, confident decisions that keep things running smoothly.
  • High energy and adaptable, thriving in a fast-paced, guest-facing role where every day brings something new.
