We’re looking for an enthusiastic and customer-focused Leisure Assistant (Cleaner) to support the day-to-day running of our Leisure Club. You’ll be at the heart of the member experience, ensuring the club is clean and safe for members use. Reporting to the Leisure Club Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting both operational excellence and a positive, inclusive environment.
About the Role
- You’ll support the delivery of a high-quality leisure experience by ensuring the Health & Leisure Club is clean, safe and welcoming for all members and guests.
- Cleaning and sanitising gym equipment, changing rooms, poolside areas, studios and communal spaces to ensure a safe and hygienic environment.
- Ensuring all areas of the club are clean, tidy and welcoming at all times.
- Completing daily and weekly cleaning schedules and safety checks in line with company standards.
- Monitoring facility cleanliness and reporting any maintenance, safety or hygiene issues promptly.
- Supporting member satisfaction by providing a friendly and helpful presence and assisting with general enquiries where appropriate.
- Carrying out stock control of cleaning materials and consumables, ensuring supplies are replenished as required.
- Following all health, safety and hygiene procedures, including safe chemical handling, poolside cleaning protocols and emergency procedures.

- You’re energetic, approachable and passionate about delivering a great experience.
- You enjoy working with people and take pride in creating a safe and welcoming environment.
- Experience in a customer-facing role, ideally within leisure, fitness or hospitality.
- Strong communication skills and confidence engaging with members and guests.
- A proactive, positive and can-do attitude.
- The ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Good attention to detail, particularly around safety and cleanliness.
- Flexibility to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A genuine passion for health, fitness and guest wellbeing.
- Recognised Pool Responder and First Aid certificates are an advantage.
