The Opportunity

We’re looking for a Night Manager who ensures guests sleep soundly, the hotel runs smoothly, and the night team feels supported and trusted. If you’re calm under pressure, attentive to detail, and motivated by creating a safe, welcoming environment, this role is for you.

Why this Role Matters

  • Security & Safety: You’re the steady presence overnight—guests and colleagues feel safe because procedures are clear and followed.
  • Autonomy & Competence: You’ll own night operations end-to-end, using clear processes and your judgment to keep things running.
  • Connection & Recognition: You’ll lead a small team, give and receive timely feedback, and be recognised for outcomes.
  • Meaning & Purpose: Each shift closes the day well and sets up the next—your work directly shapes guest experience.
  • Fair Boundaries: Structured handovers, clear responsibilities, and protected breaks help you deliver your best.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead the Night Team: Set priorities, brief colleagues, and ensure high standards across the shift.
  • Keep Operations Smooth: Oversee front desk, security, housekeeping coordination, and maintenance requests overnight.
  • Delight Guests: Respond promptly and professionally to requests, queries, and concerns.
  • Manage Incidents Calmly: Follow safety and emergency procedures; contact the appropriate authorities when needed.
  • Own the Night Audit: Complete reconciliations and prepare accurate reports for senior management.
  • Protect Safety & Compliance: Ensure policies, health & safety, and security protocols are followed consistently.
  • Be a Careful Custodian: Record and account for overnight spend and any variances.
  • Coordinate Across Departments: Flag issues and follow through so day teams can act quickly.
  • Coach & Guide: Support, train, and develop night colleagues to perform at their best.
  • Keep Clear Records: Maintain precise logs of activities, incidents, and handover notes.

What You’ll Bring

  • Experience in hotel operations (nights or front office leadership is a plus).
  • A calm, solutions-focused approach and sound judgement.
  • Strong people skills—fair, clear, and dependable leadership.
  • Confidence with night audit processes and basic systems/reporting.
  • A safety-first mindset and willingness to follow (and improve) procedures.
  • Flexibility to work overnight shifts and support weekends/bank holidays as needed.
