As Senior Copywriter, you’ll shape how Holiday Extras talks about travel insurance across pages, journeys and campaigns. This role goes beyond writing great copy. It’s about making complex decisions feel clear and manageable for customers. You’ll sit within the wider Content team, while focusing day to day on the insurance side of the business. You’ll work closely with Product, Design, Marketing, CRO and Compliance to deliver content that’s accurate, reassuring and built to perform. You’ll take ownership of complex briefs from early thinking through to delivery, confidently challenging stakeholders when needed and backing up your recommendations with clear rationale, insight and customer thinking. As a senior member of the team, you’ll also help set standards of copy, support other writers and pitch in where needed to keep the team moving.
The Role
- Senior-level copywriting - Writing clear, confident and persuasive copy across web pages, booking journeys, campaigns, email and advertising.
- Editing and refining content to keep quality high and consistent.
- Insurance-focused content - Translating complex policy details, exclusions and conditions into customer-friendly content that meets FCA requirements and builds trust.
- Performance and optimisation - Improving pages and journeys using insight, testing and performance data. Making confident recommendations based on what customers need and what performs.
- Stakeholder collaboration and challenge - Working closely with product, marketing and compliance teams. Confidently challenging briefs, assumptions and feedback when needed, and clearly explaining your thinking.
- Brand guardianship – Championing the voice and tone, accessibility and usability across insurance touchpoints, while keeping content aligned with brand guidelines.
- Collaboration and leadership - Supporting and mentoring junior and mid-level writers. Pitching in with team tasks when needed to help keep projects moving.
- Ownership and delivery - Managing multiple briefs at pace, taking responsibility for quality, deadlines and outcomes.
You’ll also have the opportunity to deepen your experience in UX writing, SEO and regulated product copy, with support from experienced colleagues across the business.
What you bring to our team:
- Significant experience in a senior copywriting role.
- Proven experience writing conversion-led web content and customer journeys.
- Confidence writing for high-consideration or regulated products.
- The ability to challenge stakeholders constructively and back up ideas clearly.
- Experience using insight, data or testing to improve content performance.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

- Experience supporting or mentoring other writers.
It’s a bonus if you have:
- Direct experience writing travel insurance or other regulated product copy.
