We’re looking for a Senior Compliance Manager to play a pivotal role in shaping how compliance supports, enables and strengthens our Insurance business. This is a senior, influential role at the heart of the Insurance team, shaping how compliance supports commercial success and customer trust. Our Compliance team exists to help the Insurance business grow, supporting commercial ambition while keeping customers at the centre of decision-making. We believe great compliance is an enabler, not a blocker, building trust with customers, partners and regulators while supporting bold, customer-focused decisions.
You’ll join a collaborative, values-led team where challenge is welcomed, ideas are heard and doing the right thing genuinely matters. This role sits at the intersection of regulation, commercial decision-making and customer outcomes. You’ll ensure we’re meeting regulatory, legal and operational obligations, while enabling teams to make confident, well-judged decisions. You’ll provide pragmatic, solution-focused guidance, spotting and addressing conduct and operational risks early and helping the business evidence good outcomes for customers.
Working closely with commercial, product and leadership teams, we champion good outcomes and pragmatic solutions aligned to Holiday Extras’ wider strategy of exceptional customer experiences.
The Role
- Act as an enabler for the Insurance business, balancing commercial priorities with regulatory requirements and reputational risk
- Own and deliver the risk-based compliance monitoring programme and annual compliance plan for HX Cover
- Ensure effective governance is in place, including policies, controls, risk reviews, business risk appetite and clear Board-level reporting
- Lead delivery of FCA obligations, including accurate and timely RMA submissions and senior-level regulatory commentary
- Build compliance into strategic initiatives such as new products, partnerships, pricing models, customer journeys and marketing campaigns
- Embed Consumer Duty thinking across the business, constructively challenging practices that could lead to foreseeable customer harm
- Act as a trusted adviser to senior stakeholders, with the credibility and confidence to influence, challenge and support decision-making
- Own audit activity, manage findings through to resolution, and lead regulatory incident response and root cause analysis
- Oversee marketing and financial promotions sign-off, ensuring FCA and ASA compliance while protecting & promoting the HX brand
- Lead compliance training and upskilling across teams, building understanding and capability
- Ensure strong UK GDPR governance, including records management, third-party contracts and data-sharing accountability
What you can bring to our team:
- Proven experience in compliance or risk within regulated financial services (insurance strongly preferred)
- A compliance qualification such as ICA, CII and/or an internal audit qualification (e.g. IIA)
- Demonstrable experience implementing or assuring Consumer Duty outcomes and conduct frameworks
- Strong working knowledge of the FCA Handbook & reporting platforms, UK GDPR and operational controls
- Good judgement and experience navigating the ambiguity in compliance, working pragmatically with the business
- A solid understanding of online marketing compliance and ASA expectations within the insurance market
- Experience working with senior stakeholders across the business producing Board-level papers, regulatory MI and leading audits or reviews
- An analytical mindset, able to translate complex regulatory requirements into clear, actionable insight
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex topics clearly to both senior and operational stakeholders
- A collaborative, resilient and pragmatic approach, with sound judgement and the confidence to escalation where customer harm or regulatory risk is material
