We have a real passion for what we do and our business is built on the quality of service we provide. We are looking for a Warehouse Operative to work in our Despatch team at our Chesterfield depot.

Working as a Warehouse Operative, you will be joining a team that ensures that our customers receive the right products and support in the delivery of high levels of customer service. You must be prepared to work in a Coldstore environment and you must have a valid driving licence.

The role offers a weekly bonus (after successful training period), pension, death in service, cycle to work scheme, healthcare cash plan scheme and staff discount. The working hours are 5.30pm to 1.30am, Sunday to Friday (with one day off in the week).

Duties include:

  • To pick orders from picking sheets, with attention to product and quantities
  • To be familiar with and able to identify the products stocked
  • To have a good working knowledge of the set-up of the warehouse and of the correct storage areas of all the various items stocked
  • To face labels outwards for double checking purposes
  • To take care when loading and unloading cages
  • To use ladders and harnesses when working off ground level
  • To use pallet trucks or fork truck in a safe manner, and only if valid certification for the machine is held
  • To report any handling equipment faults immediately to the Department Manager or his/her Deputy
  • Nominated double checkers are to check cages for products and quantities against picking sheets
  • Picking sheets must be signed for by the picker, double checker and stacker for traceability
  • To load the cages onto the correct vehicle, taking extreme care not to damage any of the goods
  • To load dry goods plus meat orders onto the correct vehicles taking care to load in such a way as to avoid any damage, spillage whilst in transport
  • To keep the warehouse clean and tidy at all times
  • To assist with other duties when requested to do so by senior management

Requirements: You must have a valid driving licence.
